Original Greek God Groupies

Yesteryear:

A thread was formed on the American Idol board by two women, (screen names) Lanipie and Sallygirl in support of a contestant named Constantine Maroulis. This thread grew into a group. A large group, a dedicated group, a close-knit group who voted and supported and built the largest thread ever in AI history, twice, all because of their love and support of Constantine. On a day known in GGG history as "black Wednesday" the GGGs bid adieu to the American Idol forum and moved on.

And Then:

We found ourselves in a new home and making plans to travel to see "Our Greek God" as he toured with the 9 others. We met each other for the first time in various locations across the USA. How exciting it was to put names and written words, with faces and expressions. The memories can't be expressed fully in this one writing, the imprint and impact so many of the GGGs had on each others lives enriched us all. The excitement of seeing, meeting, hearing Constantine live only made each meeting/gathering more perfect.

PFTSOB:

After the American Idol tour ended, Constantine went back to his former band, who had a huge fan site called the "Betty Boards" and a good percentage of the GGGs much preferred that Rocker Con and while some were not quite so sure. Plans began forming to see Constantine with the Betty Boys. It was a "freeze your ass off" tour for sure and all who got to go enjoyed the experience of "Rocker Con" immensely.

But Then:

Constantine and The Betty Boys parted ways. Things were said, things were posted, not just between "the boys" but, it filtered down through the fan sites. Lines were being drawn, declarations were being made, the GGGs seemed to be unraveling. Could this be the end? Really? After all of the battles that we had fought hand in hand against others? Were we really going to turn on ourselves? People that we had laughed with, cried with, shared intimate details of our lives with, shared our hearts with, so many fun and beautiful memories... "Shattered." NO DAMN IT NO!

And So:

It was important for all of us to find our way again with each other... those that supported Constantine as much or even more so and those that had become disenchanted but still loved their fellow GGGs. The love for one another and for who we are, The Greek God Groupies, prevailed.

And Now:

Welcome to All Greek God Groupies! It's a new day! Let's remember and Let's Rock This Thang. Let's continue to build our history, to share our lives, to laugh, and console and cherish one another. Let's all put forth the effort to grow and continue and celebrate...
